VLAB Essentials is a single user product for the desktop, for entry level access to the virtualisation of embedded target systems on a desktop host.

With VLAB Essentials, a user can easily set up, configure, launch, run, and use a single instance of a VLAB Virtual Development Machine (VDM) on their desktop.

Express Edition is optimised for a simple ‘configure, launch, load software, and run’ workflow.

Suite Edition adds advanced tools for software debug, profiling, analysis and test, along with workflow automation tools and features.

Multiple concurrent users each require a VLAB Essentials license.

If you would like a custom set of options or upgrade an existing license then please contact sales.

VLAB Essentials is a powerful entry point to the VLAB product line. It is a single user product for a desktop environment. Multiple concurrent users will each require a VLAB Essentials license.
With VLAB Essentials, a user can easily set up, configure, launch, run, and use a single instance of a VLAB Virtual Development Machine (VDM) on their desktop.

A VLAB Essentials VDM can comprise a number of different embedded target processors, including of a different type, each running the same or different OS, and a different target software build, executing concurrently as a multithreaded virtual machine on the desktop host. However, with a VLAB Essentials license, there is at all times only a single instance of VLAB and a single VLAB process in execution at any one time on the desktop.
For access to multiple concurrent instances either multiple VLAB Essentials licenses are required or an upgrade to the VLAB Workstation product which provides the user with an unlimited number of VLAB VDM instances on the same desktop host.

The Express edition is designed to enable a simple entry into virtualisation. A VLAB Essentials Express user can rapidly set up, launch, and use one or more VDMs on their desktop for development and test in an all in software virtual environment, either stand alone or using external or third party debug tools.

The VLAB Essentials Suite Edition also adds advanced run time and interactive tools for software debug, profiling, analysis and test with a VDM, and VDM workflow automation tools for agile and iterative development, integration, and test, only possible in a virtual environment and beyond the limitations of embedded hardware.

The base configuration of VLAB Essentials enables one user to start a VDM for a single Target Processor Architecture.

Licenses can be configured for:
1) Edition: Suite or Express
2) VDM#: Number of concurrent VLAB VDM instances, limited to 1.
3) Processor Architecture: The type of processor architecture which the VDM virtualises, for example one of ARM, PowerPC, RH850 or TriCore.
4) License Type: Node locked or Local Floating or Global Floating
